Protect Your Car's Exterior With A Good Waxing!
Protect Your Car's Exterior From Winter With A Good Waxing!
Sealing and waxing your auto paint is an all important step in protecting the finish of your car and extending the exterior's life. Here are some easy tips for applying a sealer and wax finish correctly.
First, we recommend that you use a clay bar before you wax and seal the paint on your car. Use the clay bar in one small section at a time to remove dust and other debris and particles that lodge in the paint on your car. If you use a clay bar before you wax and seal the paint on your car, you won't seal the dirt in and you'll be starting with a literal clean slate.
Next, use polish and gently rub out existing scratches that you can see. Make certain that you wipe away any excess polish from the cracks and the trim of your car. It isn't time to apply your wax and seal until the excess polish is removed as this will inhibit good coverage from the sealer and from the wax itself when applied to your car.
Third step is to seal the surface with a sealer or glaze. When you seal your auto paint, you fill in the minor scratches that were not removed with polishing alone. The sealer helps even the surface and eliminates deeper scratches. For best results in removing scratches and improving your paint job, sealing is definitely recommended. Plus it minimizes the look of scratches.
The last step is putting the wax on your car. Wax works by putting a protective layer over the paint on the car. When applying wax, use long, even strokes and get an even layer over all the painted areas on your car. After the wax dries, buff vigorously with a clean towel, don't use a towel from your bathroom unless you like fibers all over your cars finish. Use a microfiber towel made for this job.
It takes a little time, but taking the time to wax and seal the paint will pay off big time by extending the life of your car's finish.

Tips For Removing Bugs From Your Car's Finish
Even in colder weather, bugs can still be a problem. Normally it comes in the form of insects you rolled through in the summer months still stuck to your car's finish. Insects can harm the finish of your car and they are unavoidable, hard to see, and hit your car at high speeds, which plasters them to your paint job.
Do not scrape. If you scrape the bugs off the car, you will most likely scrape off some of the paint right with them. Aside from being a mess, bug carcasses contain enzymes that can corrode your finish if not removed promptly. That corrosion leads to rust and other damage to your car's finish. This makes getting them off your car even more urgent.
There are solutions for bug removal that are available, in the form of sprays that will dissolve and remove the insects easily from your car's paint finish. Always make sure any product you use for the removal of bugs from your car's finish is approved and won't stripe the paint off your car. Most products simply dissolve the insect carcasses a little, which means they then come off with just a simple washing. Do not use rough brushes or clothes. A good microfiber towel will do the trick. If you use any other method of washing your car, you run the risk of scratching your car's finish.
After washing your car's exterior and getting the bugs off, then it is time to rinse. Simply hose down the car and pay special attention to the finish and make sure you don't see any missing paint.
You can't avoid insects but you can remove the damage they do to your car's finish with a little patience and hard work.

Detail Your Auto's Interior For Cold Weather
Cold weather is upon us in most parts of the country, and since you're going to be rolling with your windows rolled up, you will want your car to look and smell fresh inside. That's what detailing your interior is all about.
You may not even notice your car's interior needs a little freshening up until you have the windows closed and the heater on. Little odors can turn into big ones and the stain you may not have noticed or the dust on your dash that didn't bother you before may shine like an annoying beacon now. Fortunately, detailing your car's interior is easy.
Be methodical when you begin to detail your car's interior. Begin by wiping down all the interior plastic, leather and vinyl surfaces with a damp cloth, a microfiber towel is best. Choose a cloth that is lint and dust-free, a bathroom towel will leave a trail of fuzz in most cases. Don't forget to detail the door jambs and door sills.
Then, wipe down all the interior glass surfaces with a damp cloth, again use a microfiber towel for the very best results. If it has been a long period of time since you've detailed the interior of your car, you may have to use a little elbow grease and a good cleaner to remove some of the gunk and grime.
Shake out your floor mats on your car and then use a little foam cleaner on them if they are looking dirty or dingy. Then, get out the vacuum. Work the tool into all the nooks and crannies around and between your car seats. Vacuum the floor, the upholstery, and any crevices you see in the interior where dirt could be hiding.
Replace the mats and spritz a little scent inside your car and you'll have a fresh smelling car to take you through the Winter!
