When the weather starts getting warmer, it's easy to forget to roll your car windows up at night and wouldn't you know it, the one time you forget to do that a neighborhood cat decides to come introduce himself?
There are many reasons a male cat will spray your car. Among them are if you have other animals that have been in the car, their scent will drive the male cat to remark his "territory" and technically since you're where he roams, you're on "his" turf.
In the morning when you go to get in your car for work or errands, the unmistakable odor of ammonia will hit you in the face like a brick and you will want to get that smell out of your car as quickly as possible.
It will be easy to locate the emanating spot where the marking happened. Just let your nose lead the way and when you find it, use a spot cleaner on the area to lift out the urine stain and smell. It may take two applications (let dry in between) to completely get rid of the scent, however it can be done. Follow up with a spritz of your favorite car scent to get any lingering smell out of the air and you should have a cat-free zone inside your car again.
And don't forget to leave your windows up!
